We know each other from Graduate School. Over a decade ago, we studied together at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. After a couple of years pursuing separate endeavours, we came together to build up trivago, the premier European meta-search for hotels.

Malte

is a co-founder and Managing Director of  trivago. He was responsible for the Marketplace dynamics (traffic monetization), Advertiser Relations, Finance and Legal. Earlier, he worked in Investment Banking and helped startups in different growth stages.

Peter

is a co-founder and Managing Director of trivago and was in charge of Technology. He is one of the few people in the European startup ecosphere able to bridge the gap between business and technology, having a background in both. Earlier, he worked as interim CTO at several companies to help troubleshoot their challenges. Peter is a co-founder of Ciao where he also was CTO.

Rolf

is a co-founder and Managing Director of trivago and was in charge of Product Strategy and Marketing. He conceptualized trivago and coded the platform from scratch together with Peter. In his Marketing capability, he developed and executed all forms of promotion, including SEO, SEM, Billboards or TV-ads. Before this, Rolf was a co-founder and Head of Product Development at Ciao.

Stephan

was with the founding team of trivago and an early Managing Director. Today, he is Professor for Strategy at HHL and has built up the Business Schools` Entrepreneurship Program with over 150 startups. He is a co-founder of Ciao where he built up the Community Management. Before HHL, he worked for BCG – The Boston Consulting Group.
